Cell Phone update:
The high school started off great, however the last couple weeks phones are going off in class or students are leaving them visible to us somehow. State statute mandates a no cell phone policy from bell to bell. Please remind your student that if we see it or hear it we are obligated to deal with the situation regardless of student intent or the fact that most instances are not that big of a deal.

Don't forget parent teacher conferences tonight from 4 pm to 7 pm. If your student is in high school and you think you may qualify for the OHLAP (Oklahoma's Promise) scholarship, please ask Ms. Miller or Mr. Williams for specific information. We have information sheets ready and computers available for you to begin the process.

Mr. Snodgrass and his 8th grade Science class are working on Engineering Design Process. Students had to design a blueprint and build a bridge with less than 200 popsicle sticks. Grades were given if it could hold 5 lbs, 25 lbs, and a human! Bonus points were given on the best looking, strongest, and most efficient build. They put their creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and engineering skills to work.

Indian Camp's New STEAM teacher, Mrs. Garrett, made volcano apples with her students following a study of types of Volcanoes and that Hawaii was formed from Volcanoes. Students learned that volcanic eruption occurs when gases and pressure push magma out of a volcano, similar to how gas produced by baking soda and vinegar causes the mixture to erupt from the apple. What a great hands on experience as seen in the smiles and excitement!!
Softball Update:
Todays game in Chelsea has been postponed to Monday at 5pm in Chelsea.
This means we are not playing at home Monday against Woodland. Chelsea is a district game which must take precedence. We tried to move the game here today and play on our turf, however Chelsea refused that offer.
