OAAC high School Tournament of Champions!!
For the 2025 OAAC High School Tournament of Champions, 548 students from Class A-6A, which included both private & public schools, from across the state competed over three days. Jaeden Hilyard is the first PHS student I have had qualify to take a scholar test. To qualify for a scholar test, a student must place top 5 in three or more categories at the scholastic contests we participated in at Seminole State College, Northern Oklahoma College, and USAO. The scholar test is a separate test covering grade-level language arts, math, science, and social studies as well as current events, fine arts and humanities, vocabulary, literature, and pop culture. Over 60 seniors participated in the senior scholar test this year, and Jaeden Hilyard finished 16th. They all finished really well considering the academic level of students they were competing against.
Here are the overall results for our PHS students:
Kelcie Avallone Economics 18th
Sociology 12th
Addie Thomas Art History & Terms 12th
Vocabulary 8th Top 10 Medal Recipient
